Wildlife Management

Wildlife management is concerned with maintaining an ecological balance in the natural environment;
• over population or growth of one species may alter this ecological balance requiring experience and expertise to assess the situation and formulate a plan of management to redress the imbalance.
• we work in conjunction with all the national conservation bodies in the UK and ensure work undertaken in this area conforms to current legislation.

Protected Species
There are a few species of animals that may require management in the UK. All animals and birds are protected to some extent. For a wild animal or bird to be despatched we need to run thru a complete process, this process looks at all alternative methods of control first, and only after prooving failure in all the alternate methods should the method of despatching the animal or bird be used.

There are some creatures that it is illegal to even disturbed and are specifically protected, examples of which include; badger, bats, otters, dormouse, water vole, all snakes, newts and most birds.

In some cases actions can still be taken to eliminate the problem using various forms of exclusion, for example fencing can be used to keep badgers out of a garden providing they have not set up a den there already, or otters out of a fishery. In situations where you have a problem with a protected species we can liase with Natural England on your behalf to try and establish some form of action plan.
