Residential Mole Hill Removal

Cardiff Mole Catcher

Call Cardiff Mole Control for the removal of moles that are busy creating mole hills, by an experienced mole trapper in Cardiff, Vale and surrounding areas.

Mole Trap Setting Fee                                            £65.00

Price per Mole Caught                                            £15.00

Minimum charge per visit                                     £20.00
if no moles are caught

Two or three visits is all that is normally required for a standard mole problem, though sometimes more visits are necessary depending on the circumstances.

The worst case scenario is where there is a main run crossing your lawn, here it does not matter how many traps are put down, we only catch one at a time, unless we can get traps further up and down the main run (which may be on someone else’s property). In these circumstances we may endup with just one trap in the lawn catching a mole a day for a week or more.

If your lawn is adjacent to farmland, woodland, common land or scrub and no mole control takes place there to keep the mole population under check, the chances of another mole visiting your garden are much higher.

The traps can be layed covertly or overtly dependent upon your requirements.

Mole traps are checked once a day for Homeowners.

Landowners can have traps checked up to three times a day where multiple catches are likely throughout the day.

Many pest control companies use gas producing tablets called Phostoxin or Talunex which provide no evidence of a caught mole. You just have to wait and see if further mole hills appear. Do a Google search on these tablets; you may not want these substances used around your property, livestock, pets and family after reading about the risks involved in using them.
If you have moles working on your property we guarantee to catch them.

Not taking prompt action when you first discover any new mole activity on your property usually results in a larger area of lawn or farmland being damaged.

Using any of the so called mole deterrents and old fashioned remedies, generally just moves the mole to another area of your lawn so you end up with two damaged areas (if they have any effect at all).

So it’s important that you contact Vale Pest Control as soon as any mole activity appears so that the problem can be quickly assessed.

Remember it can take up to 12 months for a lawn to return to its former glory after a mole infestation and that’s only the above ground damage. Any underground tunnel system that had been excavated is virtually impossible to repair without major lawn works.

If we think that the mole activity has ceased and the mole has moved on else where we will say so. You can keep your money and we don’t waste time. Simple!

The return of the mole

There is a relatively high risk of another mole appearing in the majority of gardens and lawns. However some properties will not have another mole for years,  then one will suddenly turn up, like just after laying some turf!

Your location and surrounding mole population is the main deciding factor to the increased likelihood of another mole.

Moles being territorial to a degree, will not normally invade another mole’s feeding area unless the occupant of that area has been removed. If a mole is trapped and removed other moles nearby will be able to sense this and may move in if the feeding is good. If the whole area has been trapped well and other moles have also been removed then it can be some time  before the area gets badly infested again.

You can also be unfortunate enough to have a main run passing through your garden, either at a depth or a shallow tunnel along a perimeter fence or hedge. Here many moles will be using the same tunnel and 5 or more moles can be caught in less than a week. Usually all activity then stops.

In periods of drought and prolonged dry spells, moles may concentrate in areas that are retaining moisture. If you have a water feature, a soakaway, or a natural spring in your garden and all surrounding ditches and water sources are empty, you will have a steady procession of moles coming just for water.

If you are looking to remove moles outside of Cardiff, The Vale and Valleys then other mole catchers can be found at Mole Catcher UK : Mole control services throughout the UK
